General Dentistry by Dr. Pastouk

Finding a highly skilled cosmetic dentist can be the difference between getting the smile you want and a serious disappointment. There are many things to consider, from a cosmetic dentist's credentials and continuing education to a cosmetic dentist's experience with the procedures you want performed. Dr. Pastouk is committed to pursuing excellence and has invested over 600 hours of continuing education in the past two years alone, to maintain his education and stay on the cutting edge of advancements within the Dental field.

We want you to trust us and let us guide you to make decisions that are the very best for you . We offer advanced cosmetic dentistry procedures and utilize the latest techniques to leave you with natural looking, beautiful teeth.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are a simple and effective way to dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. They are the most conservative approach to changing the shape, size, and color of your teeth. By placing glass-like ceramic porcelain on the surface of teeth, we can effectively mask discoloration, chipping, and gaps to provide patients with bright, straight, and even looking teeth. The high-grade ceramic we use ensures your porcelain veneers will be strong, stain resistant, and completely natural looking.

Because porcelain veneers are custom made and fitted to your teeth we want you take an active role in the smile design process. Dr. Pastouk will understand your objectives and explain the corrective limitations of the procedure so that you have realistic expectations. Porcelain veneers are reasonable facsimiles of natural teeth, not perfect replacements. Nevertheless, this procedure can heighten inner satisfaction and self-esteem.

Cosmetic Bonding

You may want to consider cosmetic bonding for less dramatic structural reasons and smaller corrections. In some cases bonding can be an alternative to porcelain veneers. Cosmetic bonding, also known as composite, is an excellent way to correct minor imperfections such as gaps, chips, or worn-down teeth providing a straighter, more uniform smile. The resulting restoration looks and functions just like natural tooth enamel and can be carefully sculpted to lengthen a tooth, fill in a chip, widen a tooth to mask a gap, and much more.

Whitening

A smile can be one of the most eye-catching features of a face, so you want it to be the brightest it can be. Tooth whitening is a sure way to brighten your smile and gain increased confidence in your appearance. It's also one of the simplest and least expensive techniques to eliminate discoloration and stains, and can also brighten the natural pigmentation of the teeth. Our custom made whitening trays to use at home are comfortable, easy to use, and deliver a great result. The degree of improvement will vary and we offer a variety of at home whitening gel to accommodate for sensitive teeth.

Gum Contouring

Excess gum tissue can create the appearance of a “gummy smile” or an uneven gum line, which can detract from the natural beauty of your teeth and smile. The gums are actually covering parts of the teeth that should be exposed, making the teeth appear short. Another common problem is unsymmetrical gum tissue, where the gum tissue is lower on one tooth than it is on the other.

Both of these problems can be corrected by a procedure called gum contouring, a simple process that is safe and effective in minimizing the prominence of gum tissue and simultaneously highlighting the attractiveness of natural enamel.

To begin, Dr. Pastouk will measure the contour of the gums and plan your ideal upper and lower gum proportions. As a general rule, the gum tissue edges around the two front teeth and canine teeth should be the same height. After a local numbing treatment, he will create a small incision and sculpt the excess gum tissue. After the procedure the gum is left to heal and the results are immediate.
